VT metro baseball league schedule FORMAT
Once the Metro, Capitol, Lake and Mountain divisions were realigned prior to the 2019 season, the Metro league went from 16 members to 9, with the other 7 becoming members of the Lake division.
These new alignments made the Metro league the only VPA division that has all division I teams. It also gave schools more flexibility and choice on who they would like to schedule.
Each Metro member plays a schedule of up to 16 games during the regular season, and can have up to 4 playoff games. Of the potential 16 regular season games, teams can have up to four non-league games, with the remaining being league games. Within the 12 league games, each team will play four Metro opponents twice in a home-and-home format.
The following are teams and their designated home-and-home opponents:
BFA-St. Albans -
Burlington -
Colchester -
Champlain Valley -
Essex -
Mt. Mansfield -
Rice Memorial -
South Burlington -
St. Johnsbury -
Teams outside of the Metro that belong in Division I will be able to play Metro teams in the playoffs if the teams are matched up or during non-league play.
The following teams are not in the Metro but belong in Division I:
Brattleboro Colonels (Brattleboro, Vermont)
Burr & Burton Academy (Manchester, Vermont)
Mt. Anthony Union High School (Bennington, Vermont)
Rutland Senior High School (Rutland, Vermont)
The top 16 teams in the VPA Rankings (point system) for Division I will make the playoffs and the format is a traditional format (#16 plays #1, #15 plays #2, etc).
